At Northern Industrial Manufacturing we know how important it is to ensure the product we produce is free of debris and other particulate that may get on the parts. Having supplied many of the largest automotive transmission OEM’s we have taken great strides to ensure that our product is extremely clean when it comes to sediment, ensuring the product we produce meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations.
This attention to detail has won us awards like the GM Global Supplier Excellence Award, and ZF Supplier of the year.
Northern Industrial Manufacturing’s extensive array of part testing capabilities will bring your components to market on time and within budget at the highest level of quality possible. With a goal of being the automotive industry’s “go to” source for high quality parts manufacturing, we would love to provide you a competitive quote.
Sediment is debris and other particulate matter that can get all over the metal parts after manufacturing. Sediments can be found on the metal parts from any kind of machining operation, and even after the deburring process. Cleaning metal parts of sediments is a simple but important task.
If metal parts are not clean of sediment, they cannot be inserted into a machine. If they are inserted into a machine anyways, they could scratch up another metal part with the sediment. These metal parts could even halt mechanical operation with a large amount of friction. Either way, these issues could possibly damage the machine.
There are multiple methods that can be used for cleaning sediment off of metal parts. These methods include spraying, sprinkling, gas or air injection, injection flooding, and carbon dioxide cleaning. The geometry, chemical composition, and type of material of the metal parts determines which cleaning method is the most appropriate to utilize for cleaning sediment off of the metal parts.
While most of our readings are too low to measure, we occasionally have an upper sediment reading of 0.2 mg/part on our larger parts. This value is well under even the most stringent requirements that our customers expect. With the configuration of our production floor, and the close attention to sediment throughout the process, you can trust Northern Industrial Manufacturing for your low sediment applications such as:
• Automotive Transmissions
• Transfer Cases
• Differential Cases
• Automotive Rear Axles
